At Lindenwood University, community service is a valued part of student life. We hope to, through community service, empower each student with a strong sense of civic duty to their communities, empathy and compassion, and a keen ethical understanding of the world. Through these characteristics they will become responsible and caring contributors to both their local and global community.

Information for Students
Students, are you interested in participating in community service events?
We invite you to spend some time exploring opportunities to serve, whether for a class assignment, a student association project, an internship/practicum, or just out of general personal interest. We trust that your time at Lindenwood will be greatly enriched by your experiences!
Lindenwood University embraces community service as an extension of service-learning, which is a philosophy of experiential learning in which students participate in community service not only to meet the needs of the community, but also to develop their critical thinking skills, commitment to values, and skills for effective citizenship.
Community Service Transcript Designation Program: Because of Lindenwood’s commitment to community service as an extension of service-learning, remember that students like you who acquire 500 hours of qualified community service can receive a designation on your permanent academic transcript to recognize your achievement. In addition, you will receive special recognition in commencement publications and receive a service cord that you can wear at graduation.
